Abstract

This integrative literature review aimed to gather and analyze scientific production on pharmaceutical interventions in nephrology services. The searches were carried out on PubMed®, LILACS®, SciELO®, EMBASE® and the Virtual Health Library (VHL) portal, as well as complementary manual searches on Google Scholar. The review included 14 studies in Portuguese, English and Spanish, with no restrictions on the date and/or place of publication. The most frequent pharmaceutical interventions were dose adjustment, requesting the discontinuation of unnecessary medication, patient education, dosage adjustment, inclusion of medication, guidance on proper administration technique and medication substitution. The acceptability of the FIs by the multiprofessional team ranged from 53% to 99.8%. The drugs involved in the FIs included: omeprazole, tacrolimus, nystatin, prednisone, insulin, fluoxetine, alfapoetin and propranolol. The results show the importance of the pharmacist in the multiprofessional team, aiming to ensure quality of patient care and pharmacotherapy safety
