Abstract
Pharmacopoeia analysis have limited application to manufactures individual product on pharmacies. The efficacy, safety and credibility of these medicines depend mainly on of Good Manufacturing Practice Guidelines, defined by regulatory Agencies. The dissolution profile provides an indication of drug bioavailability. This is essential requirement to ensure effectiveness therapeutic and avoid microbial resistance in case of antibiotics. In this study, the dissolution profiles were performed for amoxicillin capsules 500 mg obtained from three pharmacies in Belo Horizonte/MG, Brazil. The profiles were compared to the reference drug. All evaluated products attended the criteria for dissolution according Brazilian Pharmacopoeia - 80% (Q) in 90 minutes. However, only one product demonstrated similar profile to the reference product.
