I Multidisciplinary Congress on Clinical and Toxicological Analysis

The 1st Multidisciplinary Congress of Clinical and Toxicological Analysis (I COMACT) of the University Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ), headquartered at the Campus Centro-Oeste Dona Lindu (CCO), is coordinated by Prof. Farah Maria Drumond Checker Baldoni, also editor of BJHP, and for postdoctoral student Leilismara Sousa Nogueira. The Congress brings together 12 academic leagues from different institutions in the country. The I COMACT was conceived by the Academic League of Clinical and Toxicological Analysis of UFSJ (LAACT), in partnership with the following entities, which I list below: Academic League of Microbiology and Academic League of Hematology and Hemotherapy of UFSJ; Academic Analysis League Clinics of the Federal University of Ceará; Academic League of Toxicology and Academic League of Microbiology and Parasitology at the Federal University of Goiás; Academic League of Biochemistry Clinic and Academic League of Toxicology of the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco; turns on Student of Microbiology at the José do Rosário Vellano University (Unifenas); academic league of Hematology at the Paulo Afonso University Center (BA); Academic League of Toxicology Clinic of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and Health of Juiz de Fora; and Academic League of Clinical Analysis of the Red Cross Hospital. The I COMACT program features renowned speakers from different parts of the country, which will discuss current issues that address the following areas: hematology, biochemistry, clinical immunology, microbiology and parasitology, also considering toxicological analyzes and toxicology. Additionally, there will be two round tables on the performance of the analyzes clinical and toxicological practices in the labor market and the role of Brazilian public universities in the fight against Covid-19. In this pandemic scenario, the area of ​​performance of clinical and toxicological analyzes becomes indispensable, since it ranges from exams that investigate the state of health of a individual, as well as the follow-up evaluation of the patient infected with the new coronavirus, and predicting its prognosis. The Brazilian Journal of Health and Pharmacy is honored to contribute to this important national scientific event based in Minas Gerais, maintaining its commitment to make scientific knowledge freely available to the public, providing greater democratization of knowledge.
