Abstract

semi-structured questionnaire was taken to investigate the knowledge level of inters about exposure in occupational risks with biological material and the prevention strategies. The 89 interns of Pharmacy and Dental School of Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora were interviewed, and most of students reported to have the appropriate IPE and were also oriented in classes about the use of such equipment. The majority claimed to be aware of which diseases they were exposed, and Hepatitis and HIV were the most mentioned. However, there were some answers indicating unfamiliarity about the subject. In contrast, almost the totality of students reported vaccination against Hepatitis B. More than 50 % reported to know about the existence of a notification protocol at the institution, and also they knew how to notify, but 21 % (dentistry) 56% (pharmacy) denied the accessibility of the notification protocol, and in case of contamination.
