Abstract

Depression is a routine disorder, with at least two weeks of lost of joy, interest and humor. The psychotherapy and the drug therapy with antidepressant are the main treatments to depression, as well as changing in the way of living. The efect of antidepressant is about the increase of the availability of neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. The antidepressant are subdivided in 4 classes: Monoxidase Inhibitors (MAO), Tricyclic Antidepressant (TCAs), Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) and atypical. This study objected to rate the use and the knowledge of antiderpressant drugs in a county in the noth of Minas Gerais. It is about a study with transversal and descriptive character, with qualitative and quantitative analysis, developed in the county of Montes Claros – MG, in a network of drugstores, between september and october of 2017. According to the research, it was observed greater involvement in women. The use of this drugs include, mainly, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. The Fluoxetine was the most used drug. It was evidenced that most of the participants has knowledge about the acting time of these drugs. The obtained data using the Morisky-Green test to rate the adhesion to the treatment, showed that 36% of the participants are adherents to the therapy. It is observed the need of performing actions involving the pharmaceutical that propose strategies directed to the supervision, motivation of the rational and safe use of antidepressant drugs, increase of these drugs adhesion by the patients and still the inclusion of family in theassistance.
